With small children, every walk counts. Hotel Rilena sits in the quiet part of Kiten, about five minutes on foot from South Beach. Mornings are for the sea, midday is for a nap in an air-conditioned room, and afternoons belong to the pool and the swings in the garden.

We are a small, family-run hotel – 32 double rooms and 2 apartments – without the noise and crowds of the big resort complexes. Many of our guests are families who come back year after year.

  • Close to everything, but quiet – the beach is 300 m away and the town centre 200 m, so you won’t need a car or long walks in the heat.
  • Room to play – a green garden and a kids’ corner right next to the pool, where parents can keep an eye on the children.

The family room is our most popular choice for holidays with kids: two separate rooms with two bathrooms, joined by an inner door. Parents get some peace, and the children are only a door away.

Outdoor pool and kids' corner in a green garden

The outdoor pool is at the heart of the garden, surrounded by sun loungers and the shade of tall trees. The main pool is 1.20 to 1.50 m deep, and next to it there is a separate children’s pool, 0.60 m deep – just right for the little ones.

Next to the pool is the kids’ corner, with swings, a slide and a sandpit. It sits inside the garden, away from the street, so children can play freely while parents relax nearby.

After a morning at the beach, nobody wants to hunt for a restaurant with tired children. Our restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in the indoor dining room or outside under the marquee and in the shade of the garden.

The menu includes dishes that children enjoy too. If your child has specific dietary requirements, our team will do everything they can to meet them.

Holidays with kids work best when the day has a rhythm and nothing is far away. This is how most families spend theirs with us.

Morning

Have breakfast in the restaurant or the garden, grab the buckets and spades, and in five minutes you’re on South Beach. The morning sun is gentler and the sea is usually at its calmest – the best time for little ones.

Midday

back to the hotel

Around noon, when the sun is strongest, head back. Lunch in the shade of the garden, then a nap in a cool, air-conditioned room. The fridge in your room keeps fruit, water and milk fresh.

Afternoon

After the nap there’s no need to go back to the beach. The pool is a few steps from your room, and the kids’ corner with its swings, slide and sandpit is right beside it. Parents can relax on a lounger and still see the children.

Have dinner in the garden while the kids play nearby. Kiten’s centre is just 200 m away – perfect for an ice cream and a walk with the pushchair, then back to the quiet of the hotel for bedtime.

Why Kiten is a great choice for a family beach holiday

Kiten is a small resort on Bulgaria’s southern Black Sea coast, with wide sandy beaches, a compact town centre and a laid-back atmosphere. Distances are short and an evening stroll with a pushchair is easy. It’s about an hour’s drive from Burgas Airport.

From the hotel you can walk to South Beach and the town centre. A short drive away are Primorsko, the mouth of the Ropotamo River and the Strandzha Nature Park – good ideas for a day out when the sea is too rough for swimming.

Kiten has two bays with two very different beaches. Both have fine sand, but they suit different days.

South Beach is your everyday beach. You can walk there from the hotel, it has lifeguards and everything you need – umbrellas, sun loungers, cafés and toilets nearby. When the kids get tired or hungry, you’re back at the hotel in five minutes.

Atliman beach in Kiten

North Beach – Atliman

Atliman is the most scenic beach in the area – a bay backed by sand dunes, known for its gentle waves and gradual entry into the sea. It’s ideal for a longer beach day when you’re happy to bring everything with you.
